Website: Ormiston Families
Ormiston Families’ Breaking Barriers service provides support for children and young people affected by the imprisonment of a close family member. Tailored one-to-one support reduces anxiety around prison, supports emotional wellbeing and school attendance. By providing a safe space for them to talk, play and express themselves, we enable children and young people to explore their feelings and break down some of the barriers which may prevent them from maintaining positive ties with their imprisoned family member.

As part of the Federation of Children's Book Groups, the aim of Ipswich Children's Book Group, established in 1976, is to bring children and books together, and to spread the word that reading is fun. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in children's books, including families, schools, booksellers, librarians, writers and illustrators. We organise a range of activities, both for families and adults, including author talks, quizzes and book related events, as well as distributing a weekly email newsletter with links to resources and news from the world of children's books. We are also happy to provide information and advice about books and reading.
Please let us know of any other similar groups that you think belong on this list.
